Position Details

Position: Resilience Lead

Reports to: Building Principal

Location: Elementary Buildings (Delta Center, Holbrook, Wacousta, Willow Ridge)

Days: Teacher Reporting Days (Includes PD Days)

Summary: Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Resilience Lead supports the development of safe, predictable, inclusive, and resilient school environments through coaching, collaboration, and systems support. This position focuses on building staff capacity in trauma-informed practices, restorative approaches, behavioral supports, and MTSS implementation to improve student engagement, belonging, and behavioral outcomes. The Resilience Lead works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and student support staff to strengthen systems of student support and promote equitable student experiences.

This position is primarily a coaching and systems-support role and is not intended to replace building administration, dean, counseling, social work, or special education responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Successful experience and education degree in the following fields: elementary education, social work, counseling, psychology, special education, (Master's degree preferred)
  • Maintain district provided certification as a Trauma & Resilience Coach using STARR Commonwealth Certifications
  • Knowledge or experience in Cognitive Coaching or other coaching frameworks or methodologies
  • Knowledge of Restorative Practices, Trauma Informed Practices, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support
  • Crisis Prevention Institute Trained & Certified
  • Knowledge of and experience implementing social emotional learning curriculum tools (CASEL, Second Step, RethinkEd, etc.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Coaching & Adult Learning

  • Coach teachers and teams on trauma-informed and resilience-centered practices, tiered behavioral interventions, and data collection and analysis to inform decision making
  • Plan, implement, and monitor Restorative Practices and Trauma Informed Practices
  • Support implementation of proactive classroom behavior systems
  • Provide non-evaluative feedback and modeling
  • Facilitate professional learning for staff
  • Partner with principals and district leaders, classroom teachers, and local agencies
  • Continue research on best practices for Social Emotional Learning and Trauma-informed, resilient school organizations
  • Support MTSS & student support team (SST) processes

Student Support

  • Lead restorative responses to student behavior
  • Lead/facilitate re-entry/restoration processes
  • Collaborate with student support staff, families, and local agencies
  • Strengthen student connectedness and belonging
  • Facilitate or participate in school efforts to improve school climate
  • Respond to student behavior with a restorative approach and trauma lens
  • Facilitate behavior intervention plan meetings/interventions and support with data analysis

Work Environment

  • Classroom and outdoor instructional settings.
  • Regular interaction with students, staff, parents, and community partners.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout instructional areas for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment.
  • Ability to supervise students in classroom, common areas, and outdoor environments.
