REPORTS TO: Building Principal & Director of Innovation, Teaching, and Learning

As the leader of this space and its functions, the school librarian ensures that the school library environment provides all members of the school community access to information and technology, connecting learning to real-world events. By providing access to an array of well-managed resources, school librarians enable academic knowledge to be linked to deep understanding." (AASL Standard #1)
We seek applicants with the following qualities:
EDUCATIONAL PREPARATION/ CERTIFICATES/ QUALIFICATIONS
Must have appropriate Illinois Professional Educator's License with an elementary grade level Library Information Specialist endorsement.
Strong knowledge of subject matter
Willingness to complete necessary training prior to start of position
Strong leadership, facilitation, and communication skills
Able to build effective relationships in a supportive professional environment
Able to be flexible, reliable, and independent with schedule and time
Clearance of FBI/Background check required
Physical Exam within last year of hire date
Valid First Aid/CPR Cards preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Moderate degree of physical stamina with occasional lifting of 10 to 15 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds required in the physical assistance of students with special needs. Ability to move freely to various locations within the classroom, office and other business and community settings. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending. Frequent repetitive activities including hands, arms, and legs for clerical related work. Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and fringe benefits will be set in accordance with the Winnetka Professional Agreement and reviewed annually by the School Board.
