Tree of Like Sanctuary (ToLS) has been in existence for many years, lovingly nurtured and managed by volunteers. It is currently directed by a dedicated board of directors, supported by contractors, volunteers, and two employees. Employees are an Operations Manager for administrative oversight and a Library Manager for the Seeker's Library. This library is a private, seeker/patron-supported program with an exploratory spiritual focus. The Library is managed by a professionally trained Library Manager and is offered as a tool to help seekers explore spiritual paths and beliefs, so they may raise their level of spiritual satisfaction. The space houses the collection, including a reserved room for rare and/or limited use items.

Position Summary:

The Resource Development Manager, in collaboration with Tree of Life Sanctuary staff and board, oversees the organization's fundraising and outreach activities, and manages relationships with the organization's financial partners. The duties for this onsite, part-time position include cultivating new, current, and former donors to make ongoing contributions, planning fundraising events (with the Volunteer and Events Manager), and seeking out opportunities for financial and other resource support through grants and sponsorships. The Resource Development Manager collaborates with the Board of Directors on setting the vision, informs the staff on mindset, and reports directly to the Board of Directors President.

We are looking for an experienced not-for-profit fundraiser who is interested in creating and implementing a plan to fund this unique organization.

This is a well-established organization with a detailed business plan, a Library program in a year-old physical space, and other support programs that have never been funded before. It offers both in person and virtual experience and exploration into a plethora of spiritual topics, both guided and self-directed. There is a documented, rising tide of interest in all things spiritual and mind expanding in the U.S.

We need a person who has the capability to design and implement a funding plan that includes individual, business, and institutional giving, and forges lasting relationships in both the local and the wider community of seekers. We know the interest in all things spiritual and mind-expanding has a strong appeal in the Pacific Northwest; it will be up to you to create a plan to leverage that interest with marketing and outreach that leads to support.

The salary or contract agreement will be commensurate with experience and working arrangements detailed in the contract or employee agreement that you will create with the board of directors.
