ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking an experienced individual for the role of Resource Manager in our Southern Construction Division.  The geographical work area will cover Central, Southern, and Southeast Ohio. The qualified candidate will be a safety-minded, motivated, and high energy individual. The primary responsibilities will be to manage the movements and placement of various assets associated with Southern Construction.  The role will also include managing surface treatment activities in the Southern Division. This position will require supporting operations, safety, and equipment functions.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Promote safety to drivers, foreman, and crews that are under position management.
  • Ensure safe driver operation of the four lowboy rigs and monitor HOS and vehicle behavior.
  • Manage visibility of the Southern Construction vehicle fleet and assets.
  • Schedule lowboy moves of equipment and assets for the entire Southern Division.
  • Assess current owned and leased fleet and determine rental needs.
  • Monitor and manage Supply Supervisor.
  • Schedule and manage surface treatment projects, including performance management and quality execution of tasks.
  • Maintain and monitor rental fleet; understanding location and job for cost coding.
  • Perform other job related responsibilities and special projects as requested.

  • Must possess analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and supervisors with other duties, as required.
  • Must maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, vendors, and the general public at all times.
  • Travel within the state and the ability to work away from home, as required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends, when necessary.
  • Attend training and safety classes, as necessary.
  • Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Shelly Company employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.
  • Create and maintain customer and vendor relationships.
  • Strict adherence to The Shelly Company Manual of Safety Practices & Procedures.
  • Strict adherence to The Shelly Company policies and procedures as outlined in the book of company policies.

 

Qualification / Requirements:

Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, using some combination of skills and abilities.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of construction industry experience.
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving and construction functions.
  • Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with management, team members, vendors and internal and external customers.
  • Must have ability to work effectively in a high pressure, multi-tasking environment, and meet or exceed deliverables.
  • Proficiency with on-line programs, Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
