POSITION:

Resource Teacher Elementary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification (SM Certification)
  • Experience with in a resource room preferredqq
  • Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
  • Other requirements as determined by the Lincoln Park Board of Education

DUTIES:

  • Adapt, accommodate, and modify the general education curricula, pedagogy, and learning environments for students.
  • Align and adapt the student's program with the general education curriculum
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behavior management strategies and plans. Must prepare and implement behavior plans based upon functional behavioral assessments.
  • Use a range of curriculum guides to assist with identifying functional goals.
  • Employ current assessment instruments and approaches, intervention methodologies, strategies, and techniques that are appropriate for students linking assessment outcomes to curriculum planning.
  • Maintain compliance with special education timelines, required paperwork and documentation
  • Implement trauma informed/resilient focused strategies
  • Provide instruction through co-teaching model as well as direct instruction in resource room
  • Communicate to all members of the school & community
  • Meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and the position
  • Philosophy in accord with Lincoln Park Public Schools
  • Work cooperatively
  • Follow requirements of supervisors
  • Serve as a classroom instructional leader and provide instruction for meeting the needs of Special Education students
  • Other duties as required by Executive Director of Special Education and Building Principal
