Responsibilities

As a novice to advanced beginner therapist, the Respiratory Care Practitioner 1-Adult provides respiratory care to meet the cardiopulmonary needs of the patient. Provides prescribed respiratory therapy ordered by the physician, which includes assessment, treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients within the facility in accordance with department policy and procedures.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required

  • A graduate of an approved Respiratory Care Program is required

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • RCP - State of California Respiratory Care Practitioner License required

  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist w/ NBRC required

  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required

  • PALS - Pediatric Advance Life Support Certification required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position. PALS - Pediatric Advance Life Support Certification not required for incumbents working at Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital (FHSH) or at Community Subacute and Transitional Care Center (CSTCC)

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position

  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program if working in NICU required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position
