Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner - Children's Hospital Float

Location: Spokane, WA

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides comprehensive respiratory therapy services and demonstrates a strong understanding of contemporary respiratory care principles. This role involves collaborating with physicians and nurses to develop and implement patient care plans, while supporting a wide range of respiratory treatments and procedures. The practitioner works with a high level of independence and clinical expertise to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to plan and implement patient care
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions
  • Assist physicians in the delivery and direction of respiratory therapy services
  • Operate and maintain ventilatory support systems, monitoring equipment, and resuscitation devices
  • Perform patient assessments, diagnostic procedures, and oxygen therapy
  • Monitor patient responses and adjust treatments as appropriate
  • Complete department and unit-specific orientation programs as required
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Perform additional patient care functions within scope of training and competency

Required Qualifications:

  • Education sufficient to meet certification, licensure, or registration requirements
  • Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy practices and procedures
  • Experience with ventilators and respiratory support equipment
