Responsibilities

  • Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications and treatment based on patient outcomes
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls
  • Educate the patient and family about the patients health condition and provides information about community support groups and other resources

Requirements

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required
  • One or more of the following:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
  • Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist is preferred for current incumbents who have been grandfathered into their roles at St. Francis per the collective bargaining agreement in place
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
  • Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist is preferred for current incumbents who have been grandfathered into their roles at St. Francis per the collective bargaining agreement in place

Education

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associates degree, or Technical degree required
  • Additional Preferences:
  • 40/52 weekends of the year | Friday, Saturday, Sundays | 6:30 PM - 7 AM
  • 3 years adult critical care experience preferred
  • Arterial line and intubation competence preferred
  • Must be willing to train in placement of advanced lines (ie arterial, mid-line /PICC) insertions needed
