Position Overview:

This position is one of performing Respiratory Therapy modalities in a progressive health care environment. On a day-to-day basis, the therapist will often have to perform technical procedures on complex life support systems, and make on the spot decisions that affect patient care In a wide variety of settings from neonatal to geriatric. The therapist also has the responsibility for assuring that all prescribed therapy is performed with quality.

Job Description:

Schedule Requirement: Availability to work two weekend shifts per month is required. These shifts do not need to be consecutive.

EDUCATION

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • HS Diploma

  • Other: Graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

  • RCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

  • Active membership in the A.A.RC. (American Association for Respiratory Care) recommended.

  • Active membership in the C.S.R.C. (California Society for Respiratory Care) recommended License or Certification.

  • Must have, present and maintain current valid license from Respiratory Care Examining Committee.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN

  • One or more years experience in the practical application of Respiratory Therapy under medical supervision.

  • With experience In the practical application of Respiratory Therapy procedures under medical direction.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Demonstration of proficiency during clinical rotation in accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.

  • Must present valid license from Respiratory Care Board or Certificate of Completion from accredited Respiratory Therapy Program and a valid work permit.

Pay Range is $56.56 to $71.80 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health's comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
