Respiratory Therapy at Our Organization - St. Charles
- Schedule: Full-time, Night Shift, consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts weekly, with rotating weekend and holiday responsibilities.
- Sign-On Bonus: Available with a two-year service commitment; eligibility applies only to external qualified candidates.

Position Overview:
This role involves assessing and providing care for patients requiring respiratory therapy, as well as administering prescribed therapeutic services.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Evaluate patients to determine the appropriate treatment type and frequency, creating a care plan based on their diagnosis.
- Deliver respiratory care services in line with physician orders, departmental policies, and established guidelines.
- Implement and oversee patient care plans and equipment, while monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient conditions. Perform advanced respiratory care techniques.
- Assess respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatments based on patient outcomes.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and available community support resources.
- Assist in the care, calibration, and maintenance of all equipment, while helping to manage departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Ensure equipment is cleaned and sterilized according to established protocols.
- Respond to medical emergencies and rapid response situations.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
- No prior experience is necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly use speech for effective oral communication.
- Consistently stand and walk.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
- Engage in frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
- Utilize vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as to identify and differentiate colors.
- Regularly use smell to recognize odors.
- Frequently rely on hearing to receive verbal communication and detect body sounds or alarms.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasionally assist in moving patients.
- Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and perform repetitive movements with legs and arms.
- Occasionally drive.
- Rarely crawl or run.
REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
