Position Overview
An established healthcare organization is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to support Sleep Lab services. This role focuses on helping patients achieve optimal cardiopulmonary function through assessment, treatment, monitoring, and diagnostic support in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols.
The position requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and the ability to respond effectively to a variety of patient care situations. The practitioner will work with patients across all age groups and may serve in a shared charge role, assisting with daily workflow coordination and team support.
Key Responsibilities- Perform respiratory care and sleep-related diagnostic services according to physician orders and department standards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document patient responses to treatment and testing procedures.
- Apply clinical protocols, technical standards, and operational procedures to patient care situations.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to support quality patient outcomes.
- Assist with workflow coordination and provide shared charge responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with patient safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Support patients and families through education and communication regarding respiratory and sleep-related care.
Required Qualifications- Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program.
- Active Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care within two years of hire.
- Recent experience in sleep study technology.
- Associate degree or higher.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience in a Sleep Lab environment.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations across multiple age groups.
- Strong understanding of respiratory therapy and sleep medicine protocols.
