This role requires working every weekend, specifically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to evaluate and provide care for patients requiring respiratory therapy. You will administer prescribed therapeutic services related to respiratory care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of treatment, developing a care plan based on their diagnosis.
  • Deliver respiratory care services in alignment with physician orders, departmental policies, and established guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor the patient care plan and associated equipment, while documenting and communicating the patient's condition effectively.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care techniques and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments and medication administration based on patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions and provide information on community support groups and available programs.
  • Assist in the care, calibration, and maintenance of all respiratory equipment, ensuring departmental inventory levels are maintained.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid response situations.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: An Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent experience and education.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent verbal communication is required to share information.
  • Constant standing and walking are necessary.
  • Regular lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
  • Regular use of vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Frequent olfactory and auditory skills are needed to detect odors and receive oral communication.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and other physical movements.
  • Rarely required to crawl or run.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Must hold a valid Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner license from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration or a Respiratory Educ Permit.
