Provides educational and operational support for the respiratory department and respiratory leadership team, and assure Joint Commission, State, and organizational regulatory compliances. Primary Clinical educator and resource of respiratory services for staff, physicians, nurses, and other allied health care professionals. Assures compliance , resources, and compentences, for all respiratory care practices in accordances to physician 's orders, protocols, and policies. EDUCATION
Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care college degree. Mandate AARC membership. Mandatory Bachelors of Science or equivalent; Masters preferred. Considered Bachelors -ready candidates will need to have their Masters degree completed within five (5) years from date of hire
EXPERIENCE
Five (5) or more years of clinical experience in a hospital-based practice. Preferred in critical care (i.e. MICU,SICU, PCU, CCU, BURN, Emergency Medicine, PICU/PICA and NBICU). Preferred 2-3 years of Rapid Response Team experience. Two (2) or more years of Clinical Education Leadership and/or previous respiratory care supervisory experience preferred
LICENSURE
CT RCP License Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Current BLS, ACLS; instructor preferred NRP & PALS preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, Demonstrated ability to implement and support change, Proficient in basic computer applications. Ability to work with a vast of diverse educational demographics; demonstrate competences in Educational Leadership skills, proficient in data collection , quality metric interpretation and analysis; proficient in competency and health stream implementation for departmental and regulatory requirements; Demonstrate strong presentation, research, and analytical skills in accordance to YNHHS Standards of Professional Behavior
PHYSICAL DEMAND
