GENERAL SUMMARY
The Respiratory Student Aide is responsible for providing a variety of services related to the safe and effective handling of medical equipment in the respiratory care area. Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs general equipment related activities such as equipment gathering, disassembly and assembly, cleaning and sterilization.
- Monitors clinical floor inventory as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Requires basic literacy and arithmetic skills in order to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, as well as to accurately and efficiently perform job responsibilities.
- Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as but not limited to excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures.
- Frequent exposures to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions related to patient care activities.
