Responsible for the assessment of respiratory patients with acute and chronic illnesses, to ensure delivery of clinically appropriate respiratory care procedures as prescribed by the medical staff for neonate, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients.
The Clinical Respiratory Therapist II serves as a role model and resource providing clinical leadership and service coordination that assures consistently high-quality care and facilitating continuous improvement in respiratory care services.
The Clinical Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for providing patient care and assessment; interdisciplinary consultation; staff, patient, family, and community education; and performance monitoring.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum one year experience
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively within intra and inter departmental teams.
Ability to establish and maintain productive and positive working relationships with internal and external customers and co-workers.
Possess the knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position, including, but not limited to:
Expert knowledge of clinical respiratory care assessment and therapeutic modalities for the clinical area(s) assigned.
Expert knowledge and experience in the application of ventilator support.
Patient and family education
Experience in planning and conducting Inservice education and training
Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations as needed
