Job Description:

AHMG Pulmonology at Winter Park

1110 N. Kentucky Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789

Monday - Thursday 7:45am - 5pm, Friday 7:45am - 12:45pm

- may float to Apopka and Lake Mary practices as needed for coverage

  • Administers respiratory therapy treatments to patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders.
  • Evaluates patients' respiratory conditions and develops appropriate treatment plans.
  • Operates and maintains respiratory therapy equipment, including ventilators and oxygen delivery systems.
  • Monitors patients' responses to therapy and adjusts treatments as necessary.
  • Educates patients and their families on respiratory conditions and proper use of equipment.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Performs diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests.
  • Provides emergency respiratory care, including airway management and resuscitation.
  • Documents patient care activities and maintains accurate medical records.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of respiratory care protocols.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and infection control standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology [Required]
  • Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems [Required]
  • Ability to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniques [Required]
  • Ability to resolve issues and work independently within the scope of their certification [Required]
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and a professional demeanor [Required]
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements [Required]
  • Experience with computers [Required]


Education:

  • Associate's [Required]


Field of Study:

  • in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science


Work Experience:

  • 1+ year of experience as a respiratory therapist [Preferred]


Additional Information:

  • For Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist: NBRC credential must be maintained as a condition of continued role eligibility.
  • All States: require NBRC for new hires, and incumbents
  • Florida Exception: legacy incumbents may continue working and may transfer within Florida without a NBRC active credential, subject to an approved, time -limited transition period.


Licenses and Certifications:

  • State Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Required] OR State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Preferred]
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Preferred]

$23.71 - $44.09
