Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our clinical team in Alexandria, VA. This contract role is ideal for a clinician who delivers high‑quality respiratory care, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and maintains strong clinical judgment and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer therapeutic treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, and ventilator management
- Monitor patient responses and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment safely and effectively
- Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory conditions and therapies
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience
- Active Respiratory Therapist Certification and/or State License (CRT, RRT, or state‑specific licensure)
- Strong understanding of respiratory care protocols, ventilator management, and emergency response
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient‑care skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in acute care, critical care, or emergency settings
- Familiarity with EMR systems
