We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide advanced respiratory care for patients by diagnosing, evaluating, treating, managing, and controlling cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities under physician orders. This role also serves as a resource to Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) staff and may participate in special clinical projects as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic respiratory testing according to established protocols.
Obtain arterial blood gases and oversee respiratory equipment to ensure optimal patient care.
Initiate respiratory protocols and interventions based on patient assessments.
Administer respiratory medications safely and evaluate patient response.
Monitor patient condition and communicate updates and recommendations to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
Educate patients and families on respiratory care, health promotion, and self-care techniques.
Complete documentation according to departmental standards and accurately record productivity information.
Monitor respiratory supplies and equipment, reporting shortages or equipment issues as needed.
Utilize time effectively to meet productivity standards.
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve patient care processes and promote a safe care environment.
Serve as a resource, consultant, and mentor to staff and support the development of respiratory care standards.
Participate in quality improvement and research activities.
Float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business needs.
Participate in on-call coverage during regularly scheduled shifts, as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
