Work Schedule and Shift Premiums

Part time | Nights (7p-7a) | 24 hours per week, including every other weekend

2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour; 3rd shift premium is $3.05/hour; weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy
  • Has attained certification (CRT) or registry (RRT) in Respiratory Therapy and is licensed to provide respiratory care in the state of Michigan
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TEAM certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital)

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic testing which may include EKG’s, Holter Monitors, Event monitors, ABG’s, PFT’s, GXT’s and EEG’s
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance and quality control of the blood gas instruments. This includes proficiency testing as assigned
  • Administers medication to patients via NMT/MDI/DPI as prescribed by a physician
  • Performs pulmonary clearance procedures on patients utilizing PEP, Vest and CPT
  • Charts response and progress of therapies administered in EMR. Appropriate documentation of education and Care Plan. Follows through with other required documentation (72 hr. reassessments, charges)
  • Appropriately performs set up and monitoring of ventilator and BIPAP patients, including suctioning and airway maintenance
  • Prioritizes work load appropriately, completing assignments as expected
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned
