Department: Pediatric & Young Adult Long-Term CareLocation: Newark, DEJob Type: Full-TimeShifts Available: 6PM - 6AMAbout UsExceptional Care for Children provides specialized, compassionate long-term care for children and young adults with complex medical needs. We foster a warm, vibrant environment focused on life quality, developmental growth, and specialized clinical support.Position OverviewExciting things are happening! We are expanding and seeking compassionate Respiratory Therapists (RRTs & CRTs) to join our team for the opening of our brand-new unit.Key Responsibilities and DutiesProvides care and advocacy to residents requiring respiratory expertise, and completes respiratory assessment of residents each shift.Participates in the care planning process.Assists with policy and procedure development and continuous quality improvement measures.Responsible for periodically covering school sessions, medical transports, and play therapy.Delivers periodic interdisciplinary in-service education to team members and responsible parties including mock codes and trach changes.Conducts parent/responsible party training and assess needs and deficits of the training parties under the direction of Director of Respiratory Services.Responsible for routine respiratory care; including equipment maintenance, respiratory treatments, troubleshooting equipment, etc.Provides daily interaction, including but not limited to frequent conversation, play and holding/cuddling of residents to provide daily stimulation.Committee participation including Admissions, Field Trip, and Education Committees.Qualifications and SkillsEducation and experience sufficient to meet position requirements; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); active and valid license in State of Delaware (or ability to seek) required.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accessing electronic medical records.Exhibits positive communication techniques and skills and has ability to make oral presentations.Possess special interest in working with pediatric long term care residents and children with special needs.Ability to speak, read, and write English and to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, vendors and other staff members.Personifies Exceptional Care for Children's core values of Service, Helpfulness, Excellence, Leadership, Dedication, Outstanding Conduct and Integrity, and Nurturing.Benefits & Compensation· Newly Improved & Competitive Hourly Pay Rates (commensurate with experience)· Generous Shift Differentials for nights and weekends· Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance· 403(b) Retirement Plan with company match· Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays· Supportive, team-centric culture with opportunities for professional growthEqual Opportunity EmployerExceptional Care for Children is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
