Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | Approximately 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | 5 Days/Week | 7.5 Hours/Day | 37.5 Hours/Week | May Include Weekends
Local Candidates Required: Yes

Pay Rate
Local: $2,650 – $2,700/Week
Traveler: $2,700 – $2,733/Week

Position Overview
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory therapy services and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a laboratory setting.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by N.B.R.C.

  • New York State Respiratory Therapist License.

  • BCLS/BLS certification.

  • PFT certification strongly preferred.

  • Six months of prior hospital-based experience.

  • Associate Degree in Applied Science or equivalent.

  • Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program with CRTT certificate of completion.

  • Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment, practices, and clinical applications.

  • Strong oral and written communication, leadership, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer routine and advanced respiratory therapy modalities and techniques.

  • Assess the appropriateness and effectiveness of ordered respiratory therapy.

  • Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

  • Perform arterial punctures and evaluate results.

  • Assess artificial airways and take appropriate corrective action.

  • Assist physicians with interpretation of complex respiratory and hemodynamic data.

  • Determine appropriate ventilator settings when not specifically ordered by a physician.

  • Document respiratory therapy services and patient care.

  • Demonstrate respiratory therapy equipment and clinical applications.

  • Collaborate with medical personnel to resolve patient-care issues.

  • Assist with clinical instruction of new employees and teach non-credentialed staff.

  • Participate in department education, safety programs, and in-service activities.

  • Maintain equipment and cylinder safety.

  • Follow department policies, procedures, safety regulations, and standards.

  • Maintain professional communication and customer service.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
