Responsibilities
- Set up and provide education/instruction on safe use of Respiratory equipment in accordance of written physician prescription and patient evaluation.
- Responsible for set up documentation and patient follow up as necessary.
- Ensures quality and safe delivery of services to patients according to plan of care. Uses equipment and supplies safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Consistently utilizes a patientcentered approach considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety
- Develops afield of expertise by maintaining a working knowledge of third party coverage.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of clinical records.
- Assist in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of respiratory equipment.
- Responsible for selecting the most appropriate and cost-effective equipment and supplies from available product options approved by management.
- Conducts clinical review of record to include multi-disciplinary review, coordination of care provided in conjunction with visits and documentation.
- Identifies risk for acute hospitalization and proactively prevents adverse events.
- Assists in the promotion of services and products.
- Employee is responsible for completion of communication tasks and activities in a timely manner. This would include, but is not limited to responding to email, voicemail or telephone messages, promptly accurately, and professionally; attending staff meetings as scheduled of viewing videotapes of those meetings asking questions of team members and supervisors when needing clarification about various day-to-day issues or patients needs and reviewing employee communication pieces, to stay aware of UnityPoint at Home programs and initiatives.

- Perform other duties as requested by management to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the organization
Qualifications
Education:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required.
- Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program required.
Experience:
- One (1) year critical care respiratory therapy experience preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Must have current licensure in good standing to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in State(s) of Practice required:
RCPIL
RCPIA
RCPWI
Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
Mandatory Reporter required within 90 days of hire:

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
Valid driver's license required.
AUTOINS required for driving a personal vehicle.
