The Respiratory Therapist (RT) consults with physician and homecare team on findings and follow up. The RT will deliver exceptional service to our customers by being accountable, professional, courteous, understanding, responsive, and striving to excel by going above and beyond standard expectations. Other responsibilities may include assessing for need pulmonary testing, medication reconciliation with focus on respiratory medications and include instruction for homecare staff on respiratory conditions.
Responsibilities:
Educates patients with respiratory conditions focused on adaptive living with a broad explanation of the disease and use teach back methodology to assure proper use of and safe operation and maintenance of respiratory related equipment.
Maintains or exceeds clinical competencies.
Collaborates with homecare team and physician to help develop and modify individual patient care plans and provides physical and psychological support to patients and their caregiver.
Evaluates patients by performing focused physical examinations and conducting functional tests and measures related to a patient's respiratory condition.
Reports changes in patient condition to appropriate personnel and the attending physician, and participates in coordination of services with other disciplines and community resources as needed.
Processes paperwork thoroughly in accordance with company procedures. The RT will document in the homecare branch electronic medical record system.
Reports customer related changes and concerns to supervision. Attends meetings with supervisors at routine intervals
Provides quality services to patients in a compassionate, professional, ethical and knowledgeable manner, thereby creating high levels of customer satisfaction and successful outcomes.
Job Requirements
This is a PRN Position
Current valid license in state of service
Associate Degree from a Respiratory Therapy program approved by CoARC
CRTT or RRT Required; RRT preferred
Five years Respiratory Therapy experience preferred
Current CPR Certification
Ability to work independently, be detail oriented, and have excellent organizational skills.
