Respiratory Therapist (Contract Position)

Location: Springfield, MA, United States (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 90 Days (Nov 9, 2025 - Mar 8, 2026)
Pay Rate: $55.69 per hour
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours total)
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Monday to Friday


Summary

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), though Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) with relevant acute care experience will also be considered.

Certifications:

  • Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • Preferred: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)


Responsibilities

  • Assess patients to determine appropriate type and frequency of respiratory treatment; develop individualized care plans.

  • Implement, monitor, and adjust respiratory care plans and related equipment.

  • Observe, record, and communicate patient conditions and treatment responses.

  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities and administer medications as prescribed.

  • Evaluate respiratory therapy practices and outcomes, making necessary modifications for optimal results.

  • Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and available community resources.

  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and participate in resuscitation/code team efforts.


Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in an acute care setting.

  • Licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with relevant experience.

  • Skills:

    • Advanced respiratory care techniques

    • Ventilator management

    • Patient assessment and documentation

    • Team collaboration in fast-paced environments
