 Respiratory Therapist / Registered Nurse - In-home Care (Part-Time)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse to join our in-home care team in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. This part-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to provide personalized, high-quality healthcare services directly in patients’ homes, fostering improved health outcomes and enhanced quality of life.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will deliver essential respiratory and nursing care to patients in their homes, collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams. You will perform clinical assessments, manage and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, and ensure patient safety and comfort in a community-based setting. The position provides flexible scheduling options to support work-life balance while contributing meaningfully to patient wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations of patients’ respiratory and general health status.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on the proper use and safety of respiratory devices.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and care teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
  • Respond to emergency calls and support patients during urgent health situations when necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions and compliance with all safety protocols, including PPE requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience, preferably in home healthcare or a community setting.
  • Proven proficiency in managing medical and respiratory equipment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physically demanding patient care tasks.
  • Flexibility to work a minimum of 20 hours per week with adaptable scheduling.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with ventilator management and advanced respiratory systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and standard office applications.
  • Bilingual abilities or additional language skills.
  • Previous experience in home healthcare or community-based services.
  • Certification in N95 mask fit testing.

Additional Requirements:
  • Reliable personal vehicle for home visits within approximately a one-hour radius of Lewistown.
  • Willingness to participate in occasional home visits, training, and emergency response.
  • Adherence to all safety, health, and infection control protocols.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Hourly wage ranging from $37 to $40, commensurate with experience.
  • Mileage reimbursement for home visits.
  • Sign-on bonus of $2,000 after 60 days and an additional $2,000 after 180 days.
