Are you a dedicated healthcare professional seeking a flexible, rewarding opportunity to provide vital patient support? We are looking for compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapists (RRT or CRT) or Registered Nurses (RN) to join our team in the Apple Valley, Minnesota area on a PRN basis. This position offers the unique chance to create your own schedule while delivering critical respiratory equipment setup and patient education services.
Position Highlights- Location: Apple Valley, Minnesota
- Schedule: Flexible, per-diem schedule (Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm)
- Compensation: $5-$100 per service setup, plus mileage reimbursement for home visits
- Placement Fee: $3,500 Flat Fee for successful placement
- Travel: Support patient equipment needs within up to 1.5 hours from Apple Valley
Core Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine respiratory needs
- Provide patient education on equipment use and care, primarily through equipment setup in-office
- Perform CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator setups, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance
- Respond efficiently to existing or new equipment issues to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor equipment functionality and ensure proper functioning during all setups
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to physicians and care teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of all services rendered
- Educate patients and family members on safe and effective use of respiratory equipment
Work Environment & Approach
Enjoy working independently in a supportive environment, with most procedures performed during standard office hours. Occasionally, you will visit patients' homes for equipment setup or maintenance, requiring your adaptability and clinical expertise. This role emphasizes compassionate patient interaction, technical proficiency, and independence.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Active Minnesota RRT, CRT, or RN license (RT preferred)
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong clinical assessment skills and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred:
- Certification in respiratory care (degree in respiratory therapy or related science)
- Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator management
- Prior home respiratory care experience
- At least one year of relevant clinical work experience
Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Ability to lift and transport office and equipment supplies
- Visual acuity to interpret small print on devices and documents
- Willingness to adhere to OSHA and employer safety protocols, including mask fit testing
