This is a bargaining union position.
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.
Primary Shift: 0600-1630
Secondary Shifts: 0700-1530, 0730-1600, 0800-1630
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Senior Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of pulmonary diagnostic tests, including, but not limited to pulmonary function, arterial blood gas sampling & oximetery, FeNo testing. In addition to the diagnostic testing a significant component of the position is the coordination and processing of DSME needs for clinic patients. The Sr. RRT works independently in the CVPH Pulmonary clinic under the guidance of the pulmonary clinic physicians.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
Graduate of an approved Respiratory Program supported by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care, or accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs required.
Credentialed by NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist required.
New York State license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or a Registry Eligible Certified Respiratory Technician and receive NYS licensure as a Respiratory Therapist within one year of hire date required.
BLS required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
Credentialed by NBRC as a Certified Pulmonary Technologist preferred.
Experience in home care and DME relevant processes preferred.
Minimum of four years of Registered Respiratory Therapist related experience required.
As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of patients for which care is being provided.
