The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care services to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include patient assessment, administration of respiratory therapies, ventilator management, emergency airway support, patient education, and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patients' respiratory status and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Administer respiratory therapy treatments and medications.
Operate and monitor ventilators and respiratory support equipment.
Perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation.
Respond to emergency respiratory situations and code events.
Maintain accurate patient documentation.
Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams.
Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards.
Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) License in Arkansas.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Acute Care Hospital experience.
ICU or Critical Care experience.
Emergency Department respiratory care experience.
Mechanical Ventilation management.
Neonatal and Pediatric respiratory care.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong critical thinking abilities.
