Join Our Team as a Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Our organization is a LEVEL 1 Time Critical Diagnosis hospital specializing in Stroke, Trauma, and STEMI, dedicated to pioneering medical treatments, clinical trials, and comprehensive patient care. We are excited to invite applications for the position of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and are offering a $20,000 sign-on bonus for new external candidates!

Work Schedule
  • Type: Full-time, Day Shift
  • Hours: 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts
  • Rotation: Includes weekends and holidays
  • Shift Differentials: Available for night shifts, weekends, and additional shifts
  • Licensure: RRT MO Licensure is mandatory
  • Note: Only qualified external candidates will be eligible for the sign-on bonus and relocation programs.
Position Overview

The Registered Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care as part of the Department of Respiratory Care. We seek an enthusiastic and driven individual who is committed to the success of our expanding services. The therapist will consult with supervisory staff in uncertain situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Professional Interaction: Maintain respectful and professional relationships with colleagues to foster a culture of safety.
  • Therapeutic Procedures: Execute all respiratory-related therapeutic and diagnostic tasks in line with departmental policies, including:
    • Administer and evaluate oxygen and therapeutic gases
    • Set up and implement therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
    • Deliver aerosolized medications
    • Conduct chest physiotherapy (CPT) and intrapulmonary percussive ventilation (IPV)
    • Set up and monitor ventilators according to hospital protocols
    • Collaborate with peers to enhance interdepartmental services
    • Perform CPR and diagnostic procedures such as ABG analysis and pulse oximetry
  • Patient Assessment: Continuously assess and reassess patient needs, including vital signs and therapy responses.
  • Special Duties: Engage with physicians and nurses, potentially in intensive care settings, including:
    • Responding to critical situations (e.g., ER, OR, Codes)
    • Assisting in bronchoscopy and minor cardiopulmonary procedures
    • Conducting bedside pulmonary function tests
  • General Responsibilities: Attend departmental meetings, maintain accurate records, and ensure cleanliness of work areas.
  • Safety and Infection Control: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Service Excellence: Provide high-quality, respectful care to patients and their families.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assessment and reporting.
  • Age-Appropriate Care: Deliver care tailored to the developmental needs of patients across all age groups.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program is preferred.
  • Experience: Leadership skills are advantageous.
  • Licensure: Must be registered with the N.B.R.C and obtain a Missouri license within six months of hire.
  • Independent Action: Ability to provide high-quality therapy with moderate supervision and make independent decisions in various care settings.
