Respiratory Therapist

Duties:
Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients.
Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients.
Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned.
Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs.
Adequately documents all aspects of patient care.
Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned.
Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information. null

Skills:
Required Skills & Experience: Two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
Preferred Skills & Experience: N/A
Preferred Skills & Experience: Neonatal experience

Education:
Required Education: Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
Preferred Education: Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Required Certification & Licensure: Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
Current License - Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan. BLS Preferred
Certification & Licensure: N/A
Required Certification & Licensure: Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT credential) registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care.

Schedule Notes:
13 week contract required: 2%2B years experience as a respiratory therapist, Associate of Science Degree, Current ARRT or NBRC registration, current RT licensure, and BLS certification from AHA.
Candidates that have neonatal intensive care experience would be a plus but it is not required.
Candidates that have experience working in a Trauma Level 2 facility would be a plus but it is not required. OT billed after 48 hours.
