The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory care services to patients, including administering treatments, monitoring patient conditions, and supporting clinical teams in delivering high-quality care. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Treatment Delivery
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patient response and adjust care within scope
• Assist in airway management and oxygen therapy
Clinical Support
• Perform diagnostic respiratory procedures
• Maintain accurate patient documentation
• Follow clinical protocols and safety guidelines
Equipment & Technical Support
• Operate respiratory therapy equipment safely
• Perform routine checks and report malfunctions
• Ensure infection control compliance
Collaboration & Patient Support
• Work with physicians, nurses, and care teams
• Educate patients on therapy procedures
• Ensure patient comfort and safety
Must-Have Qualifications
• Utah Respiratory Care Practitioner License (upon hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• NBRC Certification (CRT or RRT)
