The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care services to patients of all ages with cardiopulmonary disorders and acute respiratory conditions. The therapist performs patient assessments, develops and implements treatment plans, and collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

This position requires strong clinical judgment, technical proficiency, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency and critical care situations while supporting the mission and values of Springhill Medical Center.

Schedule and Compensation: 

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: WOW (Work on Weekends)
  • Shift: Twelve (12) hour shifts every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Compensation: $40.00 per hour

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required.
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Licensure and Certifications: 

  • Current Alabama Respiratory Therapist license required.
  • Current CRT or RRT credential through the NBRC preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.

Experience:

  • Acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Experience with critical care and ventilator management preferred.
  • Knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, and respiratory disease management.
  • Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive ventilator management.
  • Ability to perform blood gas analysis and bedside pulmonary diagnostics.
  • Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
