Description:

Position Purpose

The Respiratory Educator (RE) utilizes innovation, flexible solutions, evidence-based practice, and effective operations for establishing an environment that transforms professional growth, role competence, and proficiency in team members specialty.

What you will do

  • Develops innovative learning approaches for coordination, facilitation, conduction, and evaluation of orientation, competency, and in-service programs

  • Create and implement continuing education based on needs assessment

  • Provide education/training on all new equipment and validates each staff member on use

  • Participate in the development of specialty and generic Respiratory policies/procedures

  • Collaborate with hospital-based education specialist for organizational needs and support

  • Mentor team members to focus on professional growth and development

  • During times of no scheduled education and training or as operational needs requires, The RT educator may perform normal duties as a staff RT

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in respiratory therapy program and Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in all aspects of Respiratory Care

  • Prior teaching experience preferred

  • NBRC certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required

  • Demonstrated project management experience required
