We are seeking an experienced and clinically strong Respiratory Therapy Manager to lead respiratory care practices across our group home settings while also serving as a hands-on respiratory care expert. Position Overview
The Respiratory Therapy Manager provides advanced respiratory care services while overseeing respiratory therapy practices and education initiatives across Agape’s Way group homes. This dual-function role combines direct clinical support with staff development responsibilities to ensure safe, effective, and consistent respiratory care in a 24-hour skilled nursing environment.
In addition to hands-on resident care, the Respiratory Therapy Manager develops and implements respiratory education programs, competency assessments, and training initiatives to support nursing staff and improve patient outcomes across all locations.
Reports to: Director of Nursing (DON)
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Respiratory Care
- Deliver expert-level respiratory interventions including ventilator management, tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, suctioning, nebulizer treatments, and airway management
- Conduct cardiopulmonary assessments and respond to respiratory emergencies in group home settings
- Monitor, assess, and document respiratory conditions in collaboration with nursing staff and medical providers
- Ensure respiratory care services are delivered in accordance with physician orders, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards
- Serve as the respiratory clinical expert for medically complex resident care needs
Clinical Education & Staff Development
- Lead respiratory onboarding, education, and competency validation for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and direct care staff
- Develop and deliver in-service trainings, simulations, and hands-on respiratory education programs
- Conduct competency assessments related to ventilator care, tracheostomy management, emergency response, suctioning, and respiratory equipment use
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support to clinical staff across all shifts
- Maintain education records, competency logs, and staff development documentation
Equipment Oversight & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee the maintenance, proper usage, and safety compliance of respiratory equipment including ventilators, oxygen systems, nebulizers, and suction devices
- Troubleshoot respiratory equipment concerns and coordinate repairs or servicing with vendors as needed
- Ensure respiratory equipment and supplies are cleaned, calibrated, and stored appropriately
- Monitor respiratory supply inventory and equipment readiness across assigned homes
- Maintain documentation related to equipment checks, maintenance activities, and staff training
Collaboration & Quality Improvement
- Collaborate closely with the DON, ADON, nursing teams, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to support individualized care planning
- Participate in case reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and respiratory outcome monitoring
- Identify opportunities to strengthen respiratory protocols, staff competency, and clinical workflows
- Provide leadership with updates regarding resident respiratory status, educational needs, and operational concerns
- Serve as a liaison between clinical leadership and bedside teams to support consistency and best practices in respiratory care
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Florida required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) considered based on experience
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of respiratory care experience required
- Experience in acute care, LTAC, subacute, long-term care, pediatric home care, or medically complex environments strongly preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and oxygen therapy required
- Previous staff training, education, or mentorship experience strongly preferred

- Strong documentation and regulatory compliance knowledge

Certifications
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
