ComForCare Home Care San Diego & La Jolla, an authorized vendor of the San Diego Regional Center, is urgently recruiting a respite care worker for a specific client family in Point Loma. The household includes two children, ages 7 and 10, both with developmental disabilities. Both children are high functioning and benefit significantly from consistent, engaged, and patient care. We are looking to place the right candidate as soon as possible.
Schedule 3 weekday evenings per week, 5:30 to 9:30 pm, with additional weekend availability as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and active engagement for both children during evening hours
- Facilitate device-free activities and structured interaction
- Support family routines while maintaining a calm and respectful presence in the home
- Communicate clearly and professionally with parents at all times
- Follow any individualized care preferences established by the family
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- High energy, strong patience, and consistent reliability
- Valid California driver's license and reliable personal transportation
- Ability to pass a background check
- Active HCA registration or immediate willingness to complete registration
Compensation: $18.00/hr per child ($36/hr total)
