Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in program or project management in an enterprise, cloud, or technology environment.
  • Experience working with executive-level clients or stakeholders.
  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience with AI/machine learning governance policy, AI safety, or socio-technical evaluation of AI systems.
  • Familiarity with responsible AI principles and practices.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Google Public Sector is at the forefront of digital transformation for U.S. federal, state and local governments, employing AI as part of our product offerings to enable customer success and mission outcomes. To ensure we adhere to AI principles, policies, and commitments, we are hiring a program manager to lead the day-to-day operations and review processes of our responsible AI program.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the governance and risk management involved in how our AI principles are applied to technology offerings, working in partnership with executive leadership, Legal, Public Policy, and Engineering teams.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $164000 - $240000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefitsLearn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations and policy review process for responsible AI.
  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution of Responsible AI requirements across internal stakeholders including Legal, Sales, and Technology teams.
  • Partner with Sales teams to integrate Responsible AI practices into the sales pipeline and foster a culture of compliance while implementing comprehensive AI training.
  • Capture governance artifacts and metadata in enterprise systems of record to maintain traceability and audit readiness.
  • Prepare clear, executive-ready reporting on compliance status, risk posture, and business outcomes.
