    About HXP

    About the Role

    The Responsible Humanitarianism team leads the development and implementation of processes that ensure our humanitarian programs are ethical, sustainable, and community-informed. This role oversees partner vetting and project selection and supports organization-wide adherence to policies and procedures for responsible engagement through regular international travel. 

    You will train youth participants, parents, trip leaders, vendors, and staff. Additionally, you will conduct research on local contexts to promote cultural awareness and appropriate practices across international programs.



    Responsibilities

        •    Regional context & cultural awareness

        â—¦    Develop deep knowledge of assigned regions and conduct local context research to promote culturally appropriate practices.

        •    Partner vetting & project selection

        â—¦    Vet partners and select projects in alignment with responsible engagement standards and community needs.

        •    Vendor and partner accountability

        â—¦    Source, evaluate, and manage vendors and partners to ensure ethical, reliable, and high-quality program support.

        •    Policy-aligned trip execution

        â—¦    Ensure that trips align with organizational policies, responsible engagement practices, and program goals.

        •    Process improvement & compliance

        â—¦    Evaluate project sustainability, gather feedback, and improve systems that support ethical, sustainable, and community-informed execution.

        •    Site evaluation & international travel

        â—¦    Travel internationally to assess partners, projects, lodging, vendors, and community context for alignment with HXP standards.



    Qualifications

        •    Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Humanitarian Studies, Global Studies, Nonprofit Management, Experience Design, Operations, Hospitality, Business, Communications, Languages, or a related field

        •    Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple timelines, stakeholders, policies, and deliverables

        •    Experience in humanitarian programs, international travel, logistics, event planning, or program operations

        •    Strong judgment in partner evaluation, project selection, and responsible community engagement

        •    High attention to detail with strong organizational, research, and planning abilities

        •    Experience building and managing budgets, including tracking expenses and staying within defined limits

        •    Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle unexpected issues during execution

        •    Comfortable with frequent international travel and on-the-ground evaluations in diverse cultural environments

    Full-Time Schedule:

    • Hybrid format

    • Onsite M/W/F (8:45 AM – 4:45 PM)

    • Remote T/Th, with Tuesday afternoons (1:00 – 4:45 PM) dedicated to Personal Improvement Time (time to work on your own projects).
