We are actively searching for a Restaurant Busser (PM/Evening Shift)
Position Summary
The Restaurant Busser plays an important support role in delivering an exceptional dining experience within the Beacon Grand’s Post Room restaurant environment. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the dining room, assisting service staff, resetting tables efficiently, and anticipating guest and operational needs throughout service.
This role primarily supports PM / evening restaurant service and requires a polished appearance, a strong sense of urgency, and a commitment to warm, attentive hospitality.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Prepare the dining room for service by setting and resetting tables with linens, service ware, glassware, utensils, and decorative elements according to restaurant standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment throughout service.
- Clear and reset tables promptly and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of presentation.
- Remove used plates, glassware, utensils, and other service items as courses are completed.
- Refill water glasses and assist with guest table maintenance in a professional and unobtrusive manner.
- Support servers and leadership by anticipating guest needs and responding promptly to requests.
- Assist with food running and delivery of items to tables when needed.
- Restock plates, glassware, flatware, napkins, and other restaurant or bar supplies as required during service.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of menus, replacing damaged or soiled menus as needed.
- Assist in maintaining service stations, side stations, and back-of-house support areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Perform opening, ongoing, and closing side work, including cleaning tables, chairs, floors, and other dining room surfaces.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times.
- Support a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with servers, hosts, bartenders, culinary staff, and managers.
- Uphold Beacon Grand service standards and represent the hotel with professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience required.
- 1–2 years of restaurant, food and beverage, or luxury hospitality experience preferred, ideally in an upper-upscale or luxury hotel environment.
- Prior busser, food runner, server assistant, or room service experience preferred.
- Some wine, beverage, and fine dining food knowledge is helpful.
- Food Handler Certification required, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Alcohol Service Certification required, if applicable by local law and outlet standards.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, managers, and fellow team members.

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and presentation.

- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism during busy service periods.
- Flexibility to assist with a variety of restaurant support duties as business demands require.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more per shift.
- Regularly required to bend, push, pull, squat, kneel, reach, lift, and carry throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to transport trays, bus tubs, dishware, glassware, and service supplies safely.
- Long hours may be required based on business levels.
- Must be available to work PM / evening shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced luxury restaurant setting within a historic hotel environment.
- Frequent interaction with guests and team members in both front- and back-of-house areas.
- High standards of service, cleanliness, grooming, and professionalism are required at all times.
