Controller – Restaurant Group

Overview

A fast-growing, people-first restaurant group is seeking a Controller to lead and elevate the company’s financial operations.

This role is ideal for a highly analytical, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and views finance as a true partner to operations.

This individual will play a critical role in supporting field leadership, driving financial clarity, and helping the business scale with strong systems, discipline, and insight.

What You’ll Do

Financial Leadership & Oversight

  • Own the full-cycle accounting process including month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger integrity
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely financial statements and operational reporting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls

Operational Partnership

  • Serve as a financial partner to operations teams across multiple locations
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for field leaders
  • Support decision-making around labor, cost controls, and profitability

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Lead and optimize financial systems, with a strong focus on Restaurant365
  • Improve workflows, reporting capabilities, and data accuracy across the organization
  • Help scale infrastructure to support company growth

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide variance analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins and drive efficiencies

Team Leadership

  • Build, develop, and mentor an accounting/finance team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, support, and continuous improvement
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, HR, and executive leadership

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong financial acumen with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
  • Proven experience in multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Restaurant365 (required)
  • Deep understanding of P&L management, cost controls, and operational finance
  • Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non-financial leaders
  • High level of integrity, organization, and attention to detail
  • Experience building processes in a growing or scaling organization

Why This Role

  • Be part of a high-growth brand with strong leadership and vision
  • Opportunity to shape financial strategy and infrastructure
  • Work alongside a team that values people, culture, and operational excellence
  • Direct impact on business performance and long-term success
