Front-of-House Host
Our breakfast-only full-service restaurant is seeking a friendly, upbeat Host to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays. No need to work evenings! The ideal candidate loves providing a warm greeting and connecting with our guests. Our hosts are also responsible for taking, packaging, and processing payments for take-out orders. The ideal host will also be willing to assist where needed during busy shifts, including assisting bus tables, run beverages, and helping with other side work tasks. Some back-of-house assistance might be needed, such as inspecting/cleaning restrooms. If you love the hospitality business and genuinely enjoy people, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests as soon as they walk through the door
- Seat guests
- Provide guests with accurate wait time estimates during busy periods
- Answer the phone
- Answer general questions about the restaurant
- Take, package, and process payment for take-out orders
- Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed
- Learn the full menu to accurately place take-out orders
- Rotate seating between different servers to ensure even workloads for waitstaff
- Keeping the host/front desk/front of the restaurant areas neat, clean, and organized
Skills and Requirements
- Flexible schedule, particularly for weekend and holiday shifts
- Customer service experience preferred
- Ability to work 6+ hours at a time on your feet
- Friendly, open disposition
- Team player who looks to help other employees whenever needed
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays
