Restaurant Host / Hostess

Job Summary:

We are seeking a welcoming and organized Restaurant Host / Hostess to join our team and create exceptional first and last impressions for our guests. In this role, you will manage table reservations, greet incoming guests, seat diners efficiently, and assist with managing the flow of the dining room. The ideal candidate is friendly, highly attentive, and able to remain calm and polished during peak service hours to support an outstanding overall dining experience.

Responsibilities:

• Greet all guests warmly upon arrival and thank them as they depart.
• Manage customer reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements using restaurant management software.
• Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and introduce their servers.
• Monitor dining room activity to maintain accurate table turnover times and minimize guest wait times.
• Answer phone calls to take reservations, address customer inquiries, and handle takeout orders if needed.
• Communicate effectively with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure balanced table distribution and smooth service.
• Keep the entrance, host station, and waiting area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a host, hostess, or customer service representative in a fast-paced environment preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a positive, professional demeanor.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and reservation platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
