Host/Hostess Job Description:
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A friendly demeanor, exceptional customer service and the ability to multitask contribute to the overall success of this position.
What You Will Do:
Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a genuine smile and positive attitude.
Manage guest flow, take reservations, manage wait list, assign tables, ensure fair and efficient seating.
Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area and waiting area.
Assist in clearing dishes and cleaning tables.
Escort guests to their assigned tables, present menus, and assist with seating arrangements, accommodate special seating requests if possible.
Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to inquiries or concerns.
Obtain knowledge of daily specials, menu items and restaurant promotions.
Maintain a professional, polished appearance, adhering to company standards.
About You:
Previous customer service or restaurant experience is a plus but not required.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle high-volume situations efficiently.
Ability to remain calm and composed, providing excellent service even during busy times.
A positive and friendly demeanor.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Able to lift 35lbs, stand, walk, bend, reach and stoop throughout shift.
