4 Rivers Smokehouse is looking for a hands-on Restaurant Manager with a strong kitchen and back-of-house background to join our Jacksonville team.

We're a scratch kitchen, which means our food starts with quality ingredients, preparation and people who care about getting the details right. We're looking for a leader who understands what it takes to run a successful kitchen, enjoys developing culinary teams and takes pride in delivering great food to our guests.

Your primary focus will be kitchen and back-of-house operations, but this is a well-rounded restaurant leadership role. You'll work closely with the entire management team to make sure the kitchen, service team and restaurant are operating together.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Lead the back-of-house team and set the standard for food quality, preparation and execution
• Oversee daily kitchen operations in a high-volume, scratch-cooking environment
• Coach, develop and motivate cooks, kitchen leaders and other BOH team members
• Ensure recipes, preparation methods, portioning and food quality standards are consistently followed
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe kitchen
• Monitor food quality, consistency and ticket execution throughout each shift
• Help manage food preparation, production and kitchen flow
• Support ordering, inventory management, receiving and food cost control
• Help manage labor and staffing to keep the kitchen operating efficiently
• Assist with hiring, interviewing, training and onboarding new team members
• Build a culture of accountability, teamwork and pride in the kitchen
• Partner with the service leadership team to ensure food and hospitality come together for a great guest experience
• Step in and work alongside the team when needed — this is a hands-on leadership position
• Support the General Manager with overall restaurant operations, goals and team development

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a restaurant leader who understands kitchens and knows how to lead people.

You may be a great fit if you have:

• Previous restaurant management or kitchen leadership experience
• Strong back-of-house or culinary experience
• Experience leading, coaching and developing kitchen teams
• An understanding of scratch cooking, food preparation and kitchen operations
• A strong commitment to food quality, consistency and cleanliness
• Experience with inventory, ordering, food cost or labor management
• The ability to stay organized and make decisions in a fast-paced kitchen
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump in when the team needs you
• The ability to work collaboratively with both kitchen and service teams

Compensation & Benefits

$55,000–$60,000 annual salary, based on experience, plus monthly bonus potential.

4 Rivers Smokehouse began with the launch of the “Barbecue Ministry” in 2004, when John hosted a cookout fundraiser to support a local family whose young daughter was battling cancer. This one event resulted in a passion for supporting local schools, churches, and charitable organizations. After trials, tribulations, and a whole lot of burnt ends, we finally flipped that “Hot Brisket Now” sign on in October of 2009. Within the first hour, a line had formed out the door…and then around the corner.
