Lucky’s Roadside Stand is hiring a hands-on Restaurant Team Leader with strong kitchen skills to lead a small team across BOH and FOH operations at its counter-service restaurant inside Ridge Hall in Ambler.

This role is designed for someone who already knows how to work a restaurant shift, lead employees, and cook confidently, and is ready to take greater ownership of scheduling, training, ordering, inventory, guest service, and day-to-day operations.

You’ll work alongside a team of approximately 5-10 employees, moving between the kitchen and counter as needed. Strong cooking skills are required. This is a hands-on leadership position, not a desk-based management role.

About the Role

The Restaurant Team Leader plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of Lucky’s Roadside Stand, supporting kitchen execution, counter service, guest experience, staffing, training, ordering, inventory, and shift organization.

You should be comfortable taking the lead while also jumping into the work. Some parts of the shift may have you cooking alongside the team. Others may require you to train an employee, interact with guests, receive an order, organize inventory, or keep service moving when business gets busy.

This position can be a strong next step for a Shift Leader, Restaurant Supervisor, BOH Supervisor, Kitchen Supervisor, Lead Cook with leadership responsibility, Assistant Manager, or other restaurant professional ready to take greater ownership of the operation.

About Lucky’s Roadside Stand

Lucky’s Roadside Stand is a counter-service spin-off of Philadelphia’s Lucky’s Last Chance, located inside Ridge Hall in Ambler.

The 22-seat restaurant serves burgers, hot dogs, mac & cheese, tots, and other Lucky’s favorites, including its signature PB & Bacon Burger with peanut butter and house-made jelly.

The operation is small and hands-on, giving the Restaurant Team Leader direct involvement in both the kitchen and guest-facing side of the restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Support daily BOH and FOH operations
• Lead and supervise a team of approximately 5-10 employees
• Cook and assist with food production as needed
• Maintain food quality and recipe consistency
• Train, coach, and motivate employees
• Hold employees accountable to operating standards
• Maintain organized and efficient shifts
• Provide strong guest service
• Assist with employee scheduling
• Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
• Keep kitchen, counter, and service areas organized
• Address operational issues as they arise

Qualifications

• Professional restaurant kitchen experience
• Restaurant leadership, supervisory, or management experience
• Strong cooking and knife skills
• Experience training and supervising employees
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation
• Experience with scheduling, ordering, receiving, or inventory
• Ability to follow written recipes and operating procedures
• Comfortable working in a counter-service restaurant
• Able to reach, bend, stoop, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds
• English proficiency
