JOB SUMMARY

The forklift driver will perform the numerous duties to support the plant receiving and warehousing functions in regard to timely delivery of materials and distribution to appropriate departments.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verify loads against shipping papers; verify labels and quantity
  • Load and unload goods to and from truck
  • Assure delivery to appropriate departments and locations
  • Prepare receipts for loads picked up
  • Helps with palletization and shrink-wrap of daily goods.
  • Adheres to all safety rules, regulations and company policies.
  • Use of forklift and hand pallet jacks to unload shipments from trucks and move to storage area or deliver to appropriate departments
  • Work overtime and weekend hours as needed
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and management. Works with others in a professional polite manner.
  • Any and all other duties assigned by Bindery/Shipping Manager
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Printing Industry a plus
  • Ability to operate electric pallet jack, floor jack, hand trucker, and shrink wrap.
Preferred Skills
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and overtime
  • Must be at work on time as scheduled
  • Mathematical Skills - ability to add subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rates, discounts, count inventory, and percentages. Calculate volumes, weights and measures.
  • Work Planning, Organization & Execution - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
