    Description

    Restoration Manager

    Location: Chesapeake, VA
    Job Type: Full-Time

    Position Overview

    This position is responsible for managing field restoration personnel. Additionally, this position is responsible for reviewing and approving time entries for their team that impact job costs and billing, as well as assigned personnel time-off requests. As needed, you may be called to oversee large-loss projects that require additional management and supervision.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, employees, and insurance companies.
    • Coordinate and manage multiple residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional restoration projects of varying complexity.
    • Provide technical explanations to clients, adjusters, consultants, and other stakeholders.
    • Meet regularly with estimators and project managers to ensure work accuracy and maintain consistent customer communication.
    • Visit job sites as needed to ensure quality standards are met.
    • Schedule daily work orders submitted by estimators and project managers for restoration, contents, and light rebuild projects based on staff capability.
    • Provide constructive feedback and direction to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
    • Ensure all work crews are properly uniformed.
    • Meet with municipal inspectors and obtain required permits.
    • Oversee moisture mapping for water damage projects.
    • Coordinate after-hours emergency services, including board-ups, water damage, fire and smoke damage, and vandalism response.
    • Respond to emergency situations, including after-hours calls when necessary.
    • Develop and manage an efficient contents restoration process.
    • Conduct regular employee performance evaluations.
    • Manage daily logistics, job assignments, field personnel, and equipment.
    • Coordinate staffing needs with temporary staffing agencies.
    • Schedule project starts and customer appointments.
    • Resolve customer complaints related to work quality or employee performance.
    • Complete accident, injury, and incident reports.
    • Collaborate with local and national operations teams to promote customer satisfaction, business growth, and operational success.
    • Attend company-sponsored operations and safety training as required.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in restoration, cleaning, construction, or a related industry working on commercial, industrial, or institutional projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Strong sense of urgency, professional demeanor, positive attitude, and excellent work ethic.
    • Proficiency with restoration management software such as Restoration Manager, DASH, Service Software, LUXOR, or similar platforms.
    • Ability to identify hazardous materials including asbestos, lead paint, mold, and IICRC Category 2, Category 3, and Special Situation water losses strongly preferred.
    • Experience operating vehicles up to 26,000 GVW and truck-trailer combinations preferred.
    • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel when required.
    • Experience managing projects up to $500,000 individually and $1,000,000+ in aggregate.
    • Intermediate training and experience in at least two of the following:
      • Water Damage
      • Fire Damage
      • Contents Damage
    • Advanced training and experience in at least one of the following:
      • Water Damage
      • Fire Damage
      • Contents Damage
    • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) preferred.
    • Experience implementing site-specific safety plans.
    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred.
    • EPA Lead RRP Certified Renovator certification preferred.
    • Knowledge of DOT requirements.
    • Eligible to operate a motor vehicle under our client's vehicle policy.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    • Strong understanding of customer service principles and best practices.
    • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and changing priorities.

    Physical Requirements

    • Frequently lift more than 50 pounds.
    • Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
    • Access and work in confined spaces.
    • Manual dexterity for keyboarding and repetitive tasks.
    • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and stand as required.
