Position Summary

The Restorative Aide (CNA) plays a vital role in supporting residents as they maintain or improve their highest level of physical functioning. Working under the guidance of licensed therapy professionals and nursing staff, the Restorative Aide implements restorative care programs and provides direct resident care while performing Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) duties.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in accordance with state requirements.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of CNA experience preferred.
  • Completion of 3-6 months of supervised training under the direction of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and/or Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to resident care.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with restorative nursing programs designed to maintain or improve mobility, strength, independence, and overall quality of life.
  • Carry out restorative care plans following discharge from physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy services.
  • Monitor resident progress and report changes or concerns to nursing staff and therapy professionals.
  • Document restorative activities and resident participation accurately and timely.
  • Provide direct resident care and perform all CNA duties in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
