    Job Summary:

    The overall purpose of the Restorative Aide position is to assist in the provision of restorative and/or rehabilitative care to patients as appropriate, and to assist in the provision of regular Patient care as may be directed.

    Qualifications:

    • State certification as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

    Essential Functions:

    • Provide personal care to patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort. Assist in the provision of restorative or rehabilitative care.
    • Performs restorative nursing tasks such as ambulation, range of motion, positioning, self-feeding, etc., within the scope of individuals' training.
    • Promotes and supports the greatest possible degree of independence for patients.
    • Advises Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) of Patient's status daily.
    • Contributes knowledge of Patient's conditions/needs to patient care plans.
    • Assists in the implementation of care plans as directed within the parameters of established policy and procedure.
    • Observes and reports on Patients' conditions and documents observations as required.
    • Promotes safe and clean environment.
    • Complies with requirements of procedures for safe lifting and/or safe transfer of patients per established policies and procedures.
    • Assists in care and maintenance of therapy area and equipment.
    • Assures that equipment is clean and functional.
    • Attends in-service training programs.
    • Attends monthly Quality Assurance Meetings.
    • Responsible for monthly and weekly weights.
    • Attends weekly rehab meetings
    • Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
    • Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
    • Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
    • Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
    • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
