JOB SUMMARY: 

Overseeing the day-to-day retail operations in the showroom of Habitat’s ReStore in Davidson County. Responsible for the management, effective planning and implementation of all store processes. Control expenses and target net profits. Ensure a safe working environment while providing for the protection of company assets and team.  The candidate must have the ability and desire to work respectfully with people of all cultures, languages, national origins, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions, classes, immigration statuses, sexual orientations, gender identity and expressions, ages, mental or physical abilities, and other diversity factors. Must conduct all activities in accordance with Habitat principles. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: 

DEVELOPMENT: 
  • Arranging stock on the showroom floor in a manner that is both visually appealing and allows ease of movement. 
  • Organizing all showroom floor operations and allocating responsibilities to personnel 
  • Supervise, train and assist employees in customer service, product knowledge and product promotions. 
  • Review of cleanliness and work with Warehouse Manager to ensure accurate pricing of merchandise in showroom. 
  • Resolving strain and conflict between staff to promote a positive and productive workplace. 
  • Documentation of sales and rewarding employees for these accordingly 
  • Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation 
  • Inspect all areas in the store and resolve as needed to ensure stock rotation, placement and safety guidelines 
  • Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays 
  • Ensure current Showroom volunteer project needs are communicated to the Volunteer Coordinator in advance 
  • Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employee safety, retention and meet weekly/annual sales goals 
  • Work closely with Warehouse Manager to plan for all incoming donations and deconstructions 
  • Complete daily recap with ReStore Manager, Warehouse Manager, Volunteer Coordinator and ReStore Administrator 
  • Monitor designated staff’s punctuality and attendance, and work with the ReStore Manager on coaching and counseling the staff if necessary.  
  • Overseeing volunteers assigned to the showroom.  
  • Other duties as directed by management. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
  • Overall management responsibility for the showroom  
  • Key participant in agency planning activities related to growth of ReStore operations. 
  • Must have the ability to effectively and patiently communicate with others 
  • Must have a valid State of Tennessee driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle of a size up to and including trucks with a box/bed length up to 26 feet in length. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance required. 
  • Available to volunteer at build site during the year. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Degree or combination of education and equivalent retail experience required. 
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in retail industry, profit center management, and showroom and warehouse operations required. 
  • Commitment to Habitat’s housing ministry goals and mission. 
  • Aligns motives, values and beliefs with Habitat values.. 
  • Fosters cooperation and collaboration. 
  • A valid drivers License and a clean driving record for insurance purposes  
  • Interacts with staff tactfully yet directly and maintains an open forum of exchange.

TIME REQUIRMENTS: 

40+ hours per week (exempt); ReStore operating hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
