Retail Assistant Manager – Retail OperationsEvergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington. Title: Retail Assistant Manager. Department: Retail Operations. FLSA Status: Salaried Non‑Exempt. Reports to: Store Manager. Supervises: Supervisors and Associates.SalaryPay: $57,500‑60,000 per year (DOE).Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesUnderstand operational metrics; implement plans to achieve goals.Discuss the operations and results of the business with fluidity and knowledge.Maximize sales through proper stock rotation, merchandising, signage, identification of e‑commerce merchandise and inventory levels of new and used goods.Assure a continuous flow of product through production support and partnership with inventory and new goods; provide the customer with an excellent assortment.Inspire and actively engage in excellent customer service; both internal and external.Develop strong working relationships throughout the enterprise; partner effectively.Attract, hire, develop, inspire and retain top talent.Champion diversity, equity and inclusion; promote the talent and voices of all people.Ensure compliance with Seattle Goodwill policies and procedures; People and Culture, Finance, Asset Protection, Risk and Safety, Customer Service, New Goods, Inventory and Merchandising.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, monitoring performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Partners with People Relations as needed and appropriate.Position Requirements (Qualifications for the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalency.Retail leadership experience of 3+ years.2+ years leading a sales team in a retail or service environment.Experience leading a team in a customer‑centric, solutions‑based environment.Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs.Skilled understanding of budget metrics, P+L; minimum 1 year.Certificates, Licenses, or RegistrationsMust have a valid Washington Driver's license and proof of insurance along with a good driving record.Computer/Technology SkillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.Physical AbilitiesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to lift and carry 20‑30 pounds; have developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers), standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing, climbing ladders, and traveling across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain). Ability to operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills.
